STOCK TIMELINE

 


To be a listing of events involving Stockinbingal station.


1877: Trains started running between Stockinbingal and Cootamundra..

1 September 1893: Station officially opened by Govenor Duff.

8 April 1918: The first passenger train runs over the Stockinbingal to Forbes line.

May 1922: Archie Stack appointed station night officer.

March 1925: Station raised to 5th grade and seven staff now employed there.

Nov 1926: Mr Lowe (Clerk at Stockinbingal station) was transferred to Tumut.

May 1943: A fire broke out at the station, but fast action saw it contained to one corner.

27 November 1983: Regular passenger operations ceased.

10 April 2021: Inaugural meeting of the 'Stock Station Preservation Group'
